Yesterday we reported on the result of the BLAST Premier Global Finals 2020 that saw Natus Vincere defeat Astralis for a $600,000 prize. Well, it turns out that not only NA'VI won during that tournament, so did online Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, as it managed to break the viewership record for an online event.

According to Esports Charts, the match between Astralis and NA'VI reached 687,691 viewers, making it the most popular online CS:GO event ever. Then to add to it, the finals between NA'VI and Astralis came close to beating that with 645,853 viewers during the game.

Two other matches also cracked the 500,000 viewer margin, but the main draw was the two games that saw record numbers for online CS:GO, which bodes well for the esport in this time where in-person events have grinded to a halt.

Did you catch the tournament, and if so, what was your favourite match?
