After a largely successful eight-year run, it appears that Olof "olofmeister" Gustafsson is soon to retire from competitive CS:GO.
Olofmeister, if you weren't aware, first joined the CS:GO scene back in 2012 and has played for notable teams such as Fnatec, Faze Clan, and H2k Gaming. He joined his most recent team Faze Clan in 2017 and assisted them in winning competitions like EPICENTER 2018 and ESL One: New York 2017. According to Liquipedia, the 29-year-old has earned approximately $880,000 throughout his career, which isn't too shabby at all.
The news of his departure was confirmed by fellow Faze Clan teammate Marcelo "Coldzera'' David within an interview with cybersports.ru. Here he talked about the future for the team and said: "The next step will be to replace Olofmeister, who will end his career." Later in the interview, Coldzera added an explanation for his departure by simply stating: "He doesn't want to play Counter-Strike anymore."
