Ghost Gaming Europe Fortnite professional, Issa "Issa" Rahim has announced his decision to retire from competitive Fortnite, due to a persistent hand injury, which limits his ability to play. Issa who has played under the Ghost Gaming banner since 2018, and played in events as recently as the Champion Trio Cash Cup: Chapter 2 Season 4 Week 1 - Europe tournament in mid-September, released a statement over Twitter detailing the issue further.
"I don't know how to start this, but I'm quitting. As many of you know, I signed with an organisation and was going to try content creation but it just doesn't work with my hand... I've been going back and forth for a while and realised I need to either do it or quit. I appreciate every single one of you that supported me on my journey over the past 3 years and I'm very grateful for all of you. I had the best time of my life and became one of the best, which has always been my dream."
Hand injuries are actually a common concern for esports players, but for Issa, his injury is a returning issue that resulted from a car accident. This does mean that Issa's career will be cut short at only 19 years old, which is still very young, even for a esports player.
