DreamHack, the organisation responsible for various tournaments and events globally, has revealed that they've partnered with Psyonix to launch the DreamHack Pro Circuit for Rocket League, having four stops in 2019 and a prize pool of $100,000 USD each.
DreamHack has already hosted Rocket League tournaments before, but this strengthens their support for the game, making it "one of the primary esports DreamHack is hosting tournaments in," according to the press release.
"Having already hosted three international Rocket League tournaments through 2017 and
2018 we've seen first hand both the size and passion of the Rocket League audience," said
Michael Van Driel, Chief Product Officer at DreamHack AB. "The launch of the DreamHack
Pro Circuit represents our commitment to Rocket League and we are looking forward to a big
year where we can continue to innovate and create four of the most compelling Rocket League
championships to date."
DreamHack Leipzig will be the first stop, from February 15 to 17, but then we'll also get DreamHack Dallas from May 31 to June 2. Another EU and NA stop will also be announced, coming in July and September respectively, and we'll get details for qualifiers at a later date as well.
There's a minimum of 32 slots for teams to compete at each stop, and will include a mix of online qualifiers, invites, and open brackets at the events.
