Last November we reported that esports organisation Splyce had been acquired by OverActive Media, joining the likes of Toronto Defiant, and now North Shore News reports that OverActive Media has raised over $22 million USD in its latest funding round, having received an initial funding round of $21.5 million back in October.
"This is another key milestone in the evolution of OverActive Media into a premier global esports ownership platform," OverActive's CEO Chris Overholt said in a statement.
The Splyce acquisition is expected to close within the next 30 days, and this new investment should prepare both the Toronto Defiant for the upcoming second season of the Overwatch League, as well as Splyce as they head into the LEC (League of Legends European Championship).
