The South Korean Overwatch Contenders organisation, Runaway has announced its decision to leave competitive Overwatch. First joining the scene back in 2016, before the Overwatch League had started and when OGN was still in its prime, the team has become a recognised and beloved name in the tier two Overwatch world.

The statement from Runaway reads in part:

"Today, we are going to notify a little heavy and sad news.

The journey of Runaway Overwatch team ends today."

The announcement does further talk about the experiences the team has shared with its community, which you can see below. As for what's next for the staff and the Runaway name, that has yet to be disclosed.
