A few days ago, we reported that League of Legends: Wild Rift would in fact get a whole range of organised tournaments this summer. Well, now the first on that list has been announced, as Riot has revealed the League of Legends: Wild Rift: Origin Series.

This event will see teams from Europe, CIS, Turkey, the Middle East, and North Africa competing in a variety of monthly events, running June through September. The event will feature several qualifiers leading up to a LAN final in September that will feature a €300,000 prize pool.

Signups for the tournament are now open, with anyone able to join in on the tournament. The first open qualify is expected to take place between June 5-6, with a second planned for June 12-13, and a playoffs planned for June 21-24. Details for the July and August qualifiers, and the September playoffs are set to be revealed at a later date.
