Ultimate Gamer has announced the world's first multi-genre esports tournament, set to feature a total prize pool of $1 million, and open for anyone to participate in. The Ultimate Gamer Worldwide Open is a free global competition designed to find the "best gamer on Earth," and will kick-off on March 1, 2021.

The tournament will span several months, seeing competition take place over eight unique titles. To win a share of the $1 million, the top 200 players in the event will have to prove their skills across at least six different games that could include League of Legends, Rainbow Six: Siege, Call of Duty: Warzone, Madden 21, Fortnite, NBA 2K21, Valorant, and Tekken. A player's individual ranking within each game will be tallied to an overall table that will then calculate where each player stands across the full tournament.

All of the top 200 players will walk away with a chunk of the prize pool, but the winner will secure $300,000, with second earning $150,000.

"At Ultimate Gamer, it's our mission to give everyday gamers who are normally not supported, a place to test their skills in a variety of titles," said Steve Suarez, Ultimate Gamer CEO in a press release. "I'm proud to be building one of the world's largest and most inclusive gaming communities, completely agnostic of whether you play on PC, console, or mobile, or whether you like sports, MOBA, Fighting, or FPS games. If you want to find like-minded people, or just want to play for the love of gaming, Ultimate Gamer is where you need to be."

You can sign up for the Ultimate Gamer Worldwide Open today right here, at the Ultimate Gamer Arena.

For more competition from Ultimate Gamer, the Ultimate Gamer Championship Series is set to start on February 20, and will begin with a Call of Duty: Warzone event with a $5,000 prize pool. Entries cost $10 and you can also sign-up for that at Ultimate Gamer's website.
